How can I reduce white reflections in this photo of leaves in water

Can anyone suggest how I might reduce the white reflection highlights shown in this jpg of leaves in the water. I have a the .NEF too. I downloaded Lightroom CC and Gimp. I tried with Lightroom CC first, wo much success. I used a Nikon D90 on a cloudy day. I'd appreciate any suggestions. The uploaded image was edited lightly in Windows Photos and it made the white worse, more intense. Thank you!
